Dear Factorians,
As 2023 is in stoppage time we would like to look back on Football Factory’s 2024. Like every year, and every football game, 2023 had ups and downs. Luckily for HVV Football Factory it was a year with many ups where we celebrated several milestones.
The final part of the 2022/23 season included valuable moments of community involvement like several successful borrels and our first ever general assembly. Football wise the spring of this year was a great success as well, our second team celebrated the club’s first ever championship. Additionally our first men’s team became second in the league based on girl province. They were promoted and now are our first team playing in the A-category.
Although most of our members spent their summer months abroad, we were able to host international opponents for the first time this summer. And not just once, twice! In June our women’s team hosted a team from Paris, while zo5 played a friendly at home against a Manchester team in August.
In August and September the new season started. These months we saw a high number of new students and members coming in. The club thus expanded with a 6th men’s team and a new women’s training team. It has been incredible to see so many new faces at the club enjoying football in the past few months.
This year’s biggest downs for the club certainly were all the canceled training sessions. This was understandably a big disappointment for many of our members. Fortunately we finally saw the arrival of new lights on our artificial pitch in November of this year. We thus look back on a great last two months of training sessions and are looking forward to the possibilities that the lights will bring to our club in 2024.
Most importantly of all, in 2023 we have grown as a club, but even more as a community! We would like to thank all of you for contributing to this community. For coming to our events, for running your training sessions, for those who refereed games, for those who organize stuff for their teammates. But most of all we would like to thank you for loving football and enjoying playing this game together.
We would not be a football association without your passion for football and without your commitment. HVV FF is a football club with more than 50 nationalities, this makes us a truly special (and weird) football club. That all of you, from all over the world, are able to play together is exactly why 2024 will be even better than 2023 for our club. Football will keep uniting us and making our club a greater community!
