Aspiring, new and old factorians behold! The new season is starting soon. The month of august has arrived, this is also the month in which HVV will open it’s doors for the start of the 2023/2024 season. (Note: the majority of this information does not apply to our women’s team. More information on their trainings will follow shortly).

For all new members, the first open training will be on wednesday august 23th at 20:00 PM at sportpark houtrust. These open trainings will be going on for two whole weeks. All dates and times can be found below. During the open trainings, there will also be try-outs for our first men’s team. Last year both the first and second team were able to gain promotion meaning that our first team will play in the Dutch A category for the first time. Certainly a strong side will be formed to fight for the title again! On two sundays, HVV will host open tournaments. These will be 7 a-side tournaments in which teams will be completely mixed, this will give new and aspiring members the opportunity to play together with old and current HVV members! In the past these tournaments have proved to be some of the most fun days of the whole season. Everyone is welcome at our open trainings and tournaments, no matter if you are starting your studies this year or if you are finishing up your masters!

Are you not able to attend the open trainings but you still want to be member? Do not worry! We will start appointing new players to the different teams from the start of September, at this point it is still possible to join for a try-out to become a member. On the 24th of september the Dutch amateur football leagues all start, this means that you will be allocated to a team by then! The rest of september will be filled with nice training sessions and friendlies between our teams and potential external teams! Our first team will be playing two games in the cup this month as well.

Lastly, HVV will not only be open on our grounds, we will also be joining many of the activities organized by the different introduction weeks of The Hague. You will be able to find us at Leiden University’s HOPweek, at the HI The Hague introduction week, at the opening activities of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (Haagse Hogeschool) and of InHolland Den Haag. HVV, it’s board and it’s members are really looking forward to this introduction period and to the upcoming season. See you soon Factorians!
